Background
This local restaurant is a Korean restaurant specializing in Dakgalbi (chicken), bibimbap (rice) and various traditional Korean dishes.
What Users Struggled With
The original restaurant menu was presented as a single static image, making it difficult for users to browse or customize their meals. There was no built-in ordering system, and the platform lacked responsive design, leading to a poor experience, especially on mobile devices.

Design & Iterate
We began by discussing the user flow and creating a UI style guide based on the brand identity. Then, we brainstormed and sketched out early ideas.
These sketches informed our medium- and high-fidelity wireframes, which we refined through two rounds of user testing. The feedback helped us iterate toward the final design.

Final Delivery
We redesigned the restaurant’s web and mobile platforms to deliver a more intuitive and seamless ordering experience. The new design enables users to browse the menu easily, customize their meals, and place orders through a newly added delivery and pickup system. Responsive layouts were also implemented to ensure an optimized experience across all devices.

Design decisions sparked differing opinions
Throughout the project, our team had differing ideas around colors, layout spacing, and component alignment. To align our perspectives, we conducted competitor analysis and explored related literature and articles.I learned the importance of research-based design
This process taught me that strong design decisions should always be grounded in research, not just preference, and I learned how to communicate and justify those decisions clearly.Collaboration and communication are key
Working through these challenges also helped me grow in team collaboration, learning when to lead, when to listen, and how to align as a team.

I wish we had built a more advanced prototype
Using tools like ProtoPie would have allowed us to simulate transitions, gestures, and more realistic interactions to gather better feedback.I would expand the flow to support dine-in ordering
The current design supports pickup and delivery. If I could go further, I’d design for the in-store dining experience to complete the full journey.
